Privacy

Your information.

The short version

The site has no forms. We collect only what you give us when you book a call, phone or email us, we use it to talk with you about your project, and we don't sell it, share it for advertising or track you around the web.

Who we are

This website is run by B H I Builders Inc., trading as BHI Builders, a California general building contractor (license B #738313). This policy explains what happens to the information you give us through the site and how you can reach us about it.

Write to us about your information at koosha@bhibuilders.com

What we collect when you book a call or contact us

The site has no forms: every page leads to booking a call. Nothing about you is collected until you book a call, phone us or email us.

Book a call
The booking page shows Calendly's scheduler. When you pick a time, Calendly collects your name, email, the phone number we should call, the time you chose and anything you add for the call, and passes them to us. Calendly handles that under its own privacy policy, and its scheduler may set its own cookies while you use it.
Phone and email
If you call or email us, we keep what you tell us, your number or address, and our notes from the conversation.

The site's calculators and the property feasibility check work entirely in your browser. What you type into them is never sent to us.

What the site collects on its own

Like any website, ours is served by a hosting company whose servers keep standard technical logs: your IP address, the browser and device you use, the page you asked for and when. We use them only to keep the site running and secure.

  • No cookies of our own. The site sets none, for advertising or for anything else; only Calendly's scheduler on the booking page may set its own.
  • No analytics, advertising or social media tags, and nothing that follows you to other sites.
  • No outside fonts, maps or videos that would report your visit to another company: everything the pages show comes from our own site, except Calendly's scheduler, which loads from Calendly on the booking page only.
  • The calculators and the property feasibility check run in your browser. What you type into them is never sent to us.
  • While you use the property feasibility check, your answers stay in your browser's session storage so a reload doesn't lose them. They stay on your device and clear when you close the tab.
  • If you turn on the reduce motion switch at the foot of a page, your browser remembers that choice. It never leaves your device.

If you type an address into the cost calculator and open the rent and return calculator from it, the address moves between the two pages inside your browser only, so the calculator can find your ZIP code. It never appears in a web address, and nothing stores it unless you send a form.

How we use it

  • To talk with you about your project and prepare a proposal.
  • If you become a client, to plan, permit and build your project and keep its records.
  • To keep the website running, secure and free of spam.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We don't use your information for advertising, we don't build profiles of you, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

How we contact you

We call you at the time you booked, at the number you gave, and follow up by phone or email about your project. We don't send marketing texts, calls or emails. If you'd rather we stop, tell us by any means.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only:

  • with the company that hosts the website for us, which acts only on our instructions;
  • with Calendly, which runs the booking calendar, when you book a call;
  • with people working on your project, such as a designer, engineer or surveyor, when you've asked us to involve them;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Because we don't share personal information with others for their own marketing, there is nothing to opt out of under California's rules on that.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us as long as we need it to talk with you about your project. If you become a client, we keep your project records for the life of the project and up to seven years after it ends, for tax and legal reasons. Server logs are kept only as long as the host keeps them for security. You can ask us to delete an inquiry sooner, and we will unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under state law, and we give them to everyone. We'll answer within 45 days, and we may first check that the request comes from you. Using these rights never changes how we treat you.

Do Not Track

We don't track your activity across other websites, and no other company collects information about your activity across websites through this site. A browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal therefore changes nothing here: there is nothing to turn off.

How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we keep what you send to the people at BHI who need it to answer you. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you as California law requires.

Children

This site is for adults planning work on their property. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. If a change would affect information you've already sent us in a significant way, we'll tell you first.
