Two detached ADUs of 940 square feet each and a 320 square foot garage converted into an ADU, on one lot in Escondido. The City of Escondido issued the permits in June 2025, together with two 200 square foot carports.

Permits and process

The City of Escondido issued the permits on June 9, 2025: the two detached ADUs, 1,880 square feet together, and the conversion of a 320 square foot garage into an ADU with two carports of 200 square feet each.

The build

The new units are two stories, with plank floors, stainless appliances, white or espresso shaker kitchens and tiled walk-in showers; one opens onto a balcony above the yard.
